5 out of 5 starsI feel slightly silly reviewing samples of bits of wood, but they shipped super quickly and it was very helpful to see the different shades in person.

Frequently asked questions
What is your current lead time?
Our current lead time is about 3-4 weeks from the receipt of payment, delivery is shortly after.
What finish options are available for the wood?
All our wood is finished with a Hard Wax Oil. This is a blend of natural oils and waxes that creates a tough finish that will never peel or flake.
For pieces made with Oak, we have eleven oil finishes with different pigments to bring out different colour tones and grain contrasts in the wood.
For pieces made with Walnut, we would always use Clear Satin Oil.
We always recommend ordering a sample pack to see the finish options in person: www.etsy.com/uk/listing/650266763/
We can also use custom finishes, just send us a message!
What finish options are available for the steel?
We can leave the steel raw, finish it in matt black, or have a custom RAL colour mixed! Just get in touch if you would like a quote for a different steel finish on your piece.
If you would like some more information on the options available, along with some example images, please see our Steel Finishes page which can be found on the Konk website.

What can I expect if my piece is made from Character Grade Oak?
It's beautiful, European, and sustainably sourced. In our character oak, you may find knots, fine cracks, and sometimes light tooling marks; it's all stuff you would expect to find in real wood. We think these natural occurrences and making marks add to our products' individuality. We always use solid oak, no laminates or veneers.
We can also quote to fill the knots on your piece with resin - just ask!
If you would like some more information on the different wood types available, along with some example images, please see the Wood Varieties section on the Wood Finishes page, which can be found on the Konk website.

What can I expect if my piece is made from Character Grade Live/Waney Edge Oak?
Live edge (aka waney edge) timber keeps the natural edge of the tree along the length of the board. Each of our waney edge oak products are completely unique.
Due to the live edge, the width of these items may vary by +/- 100mm depending on the piece of oak. We will, of course, do our best to ensure that the majority of the piece is the width ordered.
If you would like some more information on the different wood types available, along with some example images, please see the Wood Varieties section on the Wood Finishes page, which can be found on the Konk website.
If you are struggling to find this page, just drop us a message and we can send the link!
Can my piece be made with Prime Grade Oak?
Yes, we can make our pieces using Prime Graded Oak instead of the Character Graded Oak. Just send us a message, and we can quote for the upgraded material.
If you would like some more information on the different wood types available, along with some example images, please see the Wood Varieties section on the Wood Finishes page, which can be found on the Konk website.

What can I expect if my piece is made with American Black Walnut?
All our American black walnut is sustainably sourced and Prime Graded. It's a beautiful rich wood, with swirls of warm nutty colour, and it gives a super smooth finish. We sand it to a high grade, and finish with a clear satin oil.
If you would like some more information on the different wood types available, along with some example images, please see the Wood Varieties section on the Wood Finishes page, which can be found on the Konk website.
If you are struggling to find this page, just drop us a message and we can send the link!
What are your surcharge rates for delivery to Scotland and/or a remote location in the UK?
Due to the distance from our Bristol based workshop our couriers may add a surcharge onto certain delivery areas. Usually this applies for Scottish postcodes and more remote areas. Do get in touch if you would like a quote for the delivery before placing your order. Alternatively we will contact you once we have received the order to collect the additional delivery costs.
