Tatami is not just a mat. It becomes the foundation of the room. So choosing well matters.

1. Choose Japanese igusa tatami
Real Japanese igusa has a natural scent, subtle sheen, and breathable structure. It regulates humidity and ages beautifully over time. Synthetic versions may look similar, but they do not offer the same atmosphere.

2. Choose a suitable size
Think about how you use the space.
