Tatami is not just a mat. It becomes the foundatio Tatami is not just a mat. It becomes the foundation of the room. So choosing well matters.

	1.	Choose Japanese igusa tatami
Real Japanese igusa has a natural scent, subtle sheen, and breathable structure. It regulates humidity and ages beautifully over time. Synthetic versions may look similar, but they do not offer the same atmosphere.

	2.	Choose a suitable size
Think about how you use the space.
A smaller size works for meditation or a reading corner.
A larger format can anchor a living room and define the entire seating area. Tatami should feel intentional, not accidental.

	3.	Consider thickness and structure
Traditional tatami mat is thicker and more structured. Tatami rugs are lighter and flexible. Choose based on whether you want a permanent foundation or a movable layer.

	4.	Think about furniture contact
Tatami prefers balanced weight. Low tables, flat bases, and Japandi style furniture work beautifully. Use felt pads under narrow legs to protect the surface.

	5.	Design around it
Tatami changes how a room feels. Pair it with wood, linen, soft light, and natural textures. Let it ground the space rather than compete with it.

Tatami invites slower living.
And the right one transforms more than just the floor.

Would you use tatami in a living room like this?

Tatami brings more than aesthetic beauty into a sp Tatami brings more than aesthetic beauty into a space.

It regulates humidity naturally, absorbing excess moisture in summer and releasing it in winter, helping the room feel balanced and comfortable throughout the year.

Its soft, woven surface adds gentle cushioning underfoot, making it ideal for sitting, relaxing, or practising mindful movement.

Tatami also supports acoustic softness, subtly reducing echo and creating a quieter atmosphere.

Made from natural materials, it introduces texture, warmth, and a subtle earthy scent that strengthens the connection to nature.

Beyond function, tatami shifts how you use a room. It encourages lower seating, slower moments, and a more grounded way of living.

Grounded. Quiet. Intentional. Solid walnut, deep Grounded. Quiet. Intentional.

Solid walnut, deep charcoal upholstery, and natural igusa tatami create a living space that feels calm without trying too hard. The texture of tatami softens sound, gently regulates humidity, and brings a subtle, natural scent into the room.

It shifts the atmosphere. You sit lower. You breathe slower. The space feels balanced.

In Japandi, tatami is not an accessory. It becomes the quiet base that everything else is built around.

Could you imagine this in your living room?🌱

These are lates mural wallpaper collection of ours These are lates mural wallpaper collection of ours!

This is not just pattern on a wall. It is atmosphere.

Our latest murals are designed to become architectural backdrops within Japandi interiors. Soft geometry, abstract forms, layered brush textures and tonal depth transform a space without overwhelming it.

The difference is immediate.
Without the mural, the room feels minimal.
With the mural, the room feels intentional.

We offer 8 different texture styles, allowing you to control how light interacts with the surface. Each option adds subtle dimension rather than flat colour.

These murals are designed to work across spaces:

• Kitchens as elevated feature walls
• Bedrooms behind low platform beds
• Dining rooms with dramatic ceiling height
• Living rooms that need quiet structure
• Wellness studios and Pilates spaces
• Walk in wardrobes and dressing rooms

Japandi design is about balance between calm and character. These murals introduce presence while still respecting material honesty and simplicity.

If you are designing in 2026, walls should do more than disappear. They should support the story of the space.

Which room would you place a mural in first?

Natural wood, soft textures, and gentle light come together to create spaces that feel calm rather than styled. Every element was chosen to support a slower, more grounded way of living, where simplicity becomes the luxury.
